JOB TITLE: Vice President of Development and Communications

PROGRAM: Executive Team Member

STATUS: Full Time

REPORTS TO: President/CEO

CERTIFICATION:

DEGREE: Bachelor’s Degree Required

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in development, fundraising, print and promotional materials, communications and grant writing, including two (2) years of experience at Senior Management level supervising others.

Position Overview: Coordinates development and communications activities for organization

and serves as part of the Executive Leadership Team

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Valid New York State Driver’s License Use of personal vehicle during working hours
SKILLS:
Strong verbal and written communication skills Supervision and Team Building Skills Microsoft Windows Applications Experience in creation and implementation/ oversight of organization development planning Desktop Publishing skills from design to production ( Adobe Suites a plus) Computer proficient in use of database programs Strong engagement skills with multiple constituencies Website content management
AGENCY EXPECTATIONS:

Represents the organization and mission in the community Attends and participates in appropriate agency staff trainings and meetings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement and regularly monitor a Development and Fundraising Plan to track fundraising goals Engage donors through verbal and written communications, personal meetings, and events Identify and cultivate relationships to secure corporate and foundation support Develop and conduct Agency Annual Fundraising and Drive Activities Develop and coordinate the Fundraising activities of the Board of Directors (Give/Get) Promote the Agency Endowment to potential donors Assists in searching out potential grants, both public and private, and facilitates in grant process, including writing grants when appropriate Assists in compliance with on-line grant management Oversee the creation and implementation of the Agency Development, Communications and Marketing Plan to promote our mission and provide consistent branding Oversees the Development and Coordination of agency communication through email, social media.

Website, press contacts, speaking engagements and other platforms Oversees the development of agency and program marketing materials Provides supports to the Annual Gala Event team, Awards Event, and produces Annual Report Functions as Agency spokesperson, along with CEO, in media communications Supervises Communications Supervisor Oversees the management of Agency database and software for Fund Development Oversees management of gifts-in-kind, donated items and annual holiday donations Collaborate with Senior Management and Board members to promote programs and agency mission Facilitates the Development, Communications and Marketing Committee, and reports to the Board on Fundraising and Communication plans Serves on the Senior Management Team and Executive Leadership Team Reports directly to, and participates constructively in supervision with CEO Performs other duties as requested by President/CEO
