Vice President, Marketing

This is a Full-time position in New York, NY posted December 13, 2021.

As the VP, Marketing, you will be building and leading the LeagueApps marketing team.

With your leadership, the team will be responsible for developing, executing, and scaling our marketing strategies that enable us to deepen relationships with youth sports organizations and the members they serve and advance our broader business goals.

You will also help us drive thought leadership and brand awareness that will drive our revenue, recruiting and impact goals.

In addition, you will be a key member of the executive team and working with colleagues to advance the company’s business strategy.

LeagueApps is in a unique position for a marketing leader to quarterback the company’s growth efforts.

We have strong product market fit evidenced by high retention rates and NPS scores and a clear leadership position in the industry’s fastest growing and most influential segment.

We are looking for a marketing leader to oversee an operation that will predictably scale our baseline marketing programs and discover new ones for driving revenue, with processes for experimentation, data analysis and evidence-based decision making. 

There is board-level dedication to making investments in our marketing team, marketing operations and marketing programs.

Today, we operate in the US marketing, and we plan to expand internationally during the next several years.

Responsibilities:

TEAM BUILDING AND LEADERSHIP

  • Design the marketing organization and manage all marketing functions in the company including demand generation, content marketing, communications, and brand marketing.
  • Recruit, hire and retain a world class marketing team with the capabilities to deliver on the LeagueApps growth and brand strategy.
  • Manage the marketing team members by providing coaching, mentoring and development opportunities. 
  • Build high-performance capabilities across performance marketing, ABM, operations, content marketing, events and communications that can operate collaboratively to manage marketing programs across multiple channels.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts in partnership with sales, customer success, community and product.
  • Lead the marketing team to develop scalable marketing programs through experimentation, data analysis and evidence-based decision making.
  • Collaborate and work closely with your peers across the company to help LeagueApps achieve its overall corporate objectives. 
  • Cultivate a strong, high-performance culture that is data-driven and customer-centric in the marketing organization. 

MARKETING STRATEGY AND EXECUTION

  • Oversee the development of a marketing strategy and roadmap that realizes our business goals. 
  • Establish our brand strategy and messaging.
  • Manage the marketing budget and all marketing spending.
  • Set and achieve objectives and key performance indicators to execute marketing with excellence.
  • Define and oversee key strategic projects that provide the marketing organization the foundation for scale.
  • Oversee the development of scalable marketing programs and predictable channels to drive growth. 
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales to align the marketing strategy with our sales team efforts
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Product to build a go-to-market strategy that drives our product goals and leverages product-lead growth tactics. 
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Customer Success to drive adoption, utilization and expansion of technology in our customer segment
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Community to leverage our community initiatives to drive our growth and brand marketing goals

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years experience as a senior marketing leader in B2B SaaS organizations with a focus on SMB and SME markets 
  • Demonstrated ability to build a multi-channel growth engine and collaborate with sales to grow revenue to $75M or more in ARR.
  • Proven experience building brand awareness and establishing a category and category leadership. 
  • Extensive experience working with key B2B SaaS marketing channels including SEM, display, content marketing/SEO, communications, social media, marketing automation and events.
  • Skilled at developing original strategies uniquely fitted to the needs of a specific business and market. 
  • Experience building sophisticated account-based marketing (ABM) programs. 
  • Experience managing marketing operations and implementing modern martech stacks. 
  • Demonstrated skills in budgeting, budget management, purchasing, agency management, and ROI analysis.
  • Ability to use advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision making to build sophisticated marketing programs. 
  • Experience scaling and transforming marketing teams to achieve high-performance.
  • Works well in conjunction with all team members across sales, product, and engineering.
  • Hands-on experience operating as the most senior marketing leader in a growth stage B2B SaaS company.
