Vice President Food + Beverage

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate, food-loving senior professional to join the company’s award-winning Food and Beverage team
– building and leading development and expansion of capabilities, services and thought leadership in contemporary food and beverage industry marketing and communications with an emphasis on digital retail and e-commerce to drive business impact.

The VP will lead and engage teams and clients with innovative multi-channel marketing and communications, digital and social engagement, creative content development and data-based connection strategies.

You’ll be responsible for business development, strategic planning, client service and team leadership among the agency’s diverse portfolio of food, beverage and nutrition clients.

The ideal candidate will be an expert with a proven track record in food and beverage marketing across a wide range of traditional and digital channels, and have expertise in branded food, consumer marketing and food retail disciplines.

Responsibilities:
Living and demonstrating the company’s beliefs and values, contributing positively to the culture, and making other strategic contributions that propel agency growth and reputation forward.

Business development: helping the agency identify, prospect and secure clients that complement its current portfolio.

Service/solution development: grow agency capabilities in digital retail and e-commerce.

Leading client work: serving as strategic advisor and bringing new expertise/services to with consumer PR and digital at the core.

Developing and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with clients (U.S.

and international) and oversight/responsibility for client relationships, strategic direction, program planning, budgeting and staffing of several clients that he/she manages.

Managing account teams: supervise integrated account teams and several direct reports.

Provide the resources and direction to elevate staff in their professional growth and development.

Assisting the agency in development and expansion of its capabilities in contemporary food and beverage industry marketing and communications, including multi-channel marketing and communications, digital and social engagement, creative content development and data-based connection strategies.

Bringing the agency’s Transform with Purpose approach to life through digital food and beverage content and engagement strategies.

Tapping personal and agency relationships with vendors, influencers and former clients to build the capabilities and business.

Driving visible thought leadership in the food, beverage, nutrition space; potential extension into the public affairs, science, agriculture and health space.

Strong involvement in sector and agency promotional activities, including representing the firm at industry forums and special events.

Close collaboration with Food + Bev leadership, company services (i.e., insights, branding, digital, creative, data, analytics) and sister agency resources to build and launch the new capabilities.

Participate in annual business planning for the sector.

Ensuring delivery of agency services at maximum value and highest possible quality, given the scope and budget, to meet client needs.

The person in this position must adhere to the highest standards of quality in all aspects of work.

Qualifications:
Passion for food, beverage and nutrition.

Experience developing and leading consumer brand (CPG) food and beverage integrated marketing campaigns.

Advanced knowledge and experience in digital marketing and digital retail/e-commerce within the food and beverage industry.

Advanced knowledge and experience using research, insights and data to drive behavior change.

Advanced knowledge of sales and marketing concepts to pursue business development.

Food and beverage PR experience with expertise leading integrated marketing campaigns, and all aspects of digital strategy and activations planning and execution.

Expertise and knowledge in food and beverage e-commerce and innovative influencer tools.

Proven ability to break new ground by finding unique, creative and effective ways to solve problems and maximize opportunities on behalf of our clients and the firm.

Strong integrated marketing experience at mid-sized or large agencies.

Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.

Advanced knowledge of supervisory and management principles and practices.

Financial management abilities, including budgeting and efficient management of large, complex clients and projects.

Experience managing client portfolios in excess of $2 million.

Demonstrated superior level of teamwork and relationship-building.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field Additional credentials in food industry, digital and/or digital retail/e-commerce preferred Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated leadership progression within public relations/marketing communications professional services industry Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

30-40% travel, mostly domestic with some potential for international.
