nnThe Sr.

Director of Technical Design is responsible to ensure that TH is putting a commercially viable product into bulk production.

The Sr.

Director of Technical Design coordinates with various departments and factories to achieve and maintain corporate standards for fit and quality for all product categories.

The position is also responsible to manage workloads of team and liaise with Merchandising and Design to select fit models.nn nnResponsibilities:nn nnWork with Department SVP, Design Staff and Product Managers to achieve corporate standards in both fit and qualityWork with Design and Technical Design staff in the development of standard fit blocks for all categoriesResponsible to own the fit of the garments.

Sr.

Director of Technical Design must ensure that the product is commercially viable before being put into production and to escalate concerns to SVP of Production and SVP of Design/Merchandising as necessaryMake sure the team is distributing basic blocks for initial proto developmentsTrain and supervise staff, which includes Senior Technical Designers, Technical Designers, Associate level Technical Designers, Freelancers and InternsPeriodically monitor fittings of all Technical Design staffMaintain records of staff achievements and areas for improvement to be incorporated into annual staff reviewsIssue Initial specs for Proto sample developmentMeasure samples and prepare all paperwork for fit sessionsRun fit sessions, identify and analyze problems with fit and construction on live model and or body formWrite and communicate detail comments to vendor after each fittingMake pattern corrections as necessaryFollow up with resubmitted samples and issue graded production specs accordinglyWhen necessary, review for quality and measure production samplesWork with Technical Designers to regularly review base size specification, grade rules, and figure body types to insure size range meets company objectivesTravel abroad to visit factories or buying offices as neededEvaluate workload and adjust distribution of tech team duties seasonally when needed to insure appropriate work load for all technical designersProvide tech.

team members with work load support during critical busy periods in both mens and womens product across all product categoriesWork with VP of Merchandizing and VP of Design to research and choose fit models when necessaryPeriodically evaluate TH fit relative to the competition and present findings to Design and Merchandising to determine consistency with industry and to make adjustments as requiredManage the Technical Calendar re: any deadline issuesResponsible for model and freelance budget as they pertain to technical designAttend weekly meetings with VP of Production and Sr.

Product ManagersAttend periodic merchandising meetings as needednn nnQualifications:Bachelors degree or equivalent10+ years of demonstrated experienceStrong supervisory experienceStrong time management/project management skillsAbility to multi-taskMust be flexible to adapt to changing needs of businessStrong written and oral communication skills.Detail orientedAbility to deal with multiple prioritiesStrong negotiation/people skillsPhotoshop, Illustrator, Optitex, Browzwear, PLM requiredMS Office, incl.
