Production Superintendent

Production Superintendent Our client is a leading manufacturer of components and systems for the industry they support.

They currently have approximately 800 employees in multiple locations in both the US and Canada.

The company has developed a reputation for quality, reliability and customer service over its 90 years in business.

Job Duties *Manage 8-10 hour shifts Monday through Friday, with some weekend schedules as needed.*Responsible for up to 100 hourly employees across multiple departments.*Be a visible presence on the shop floor, monitoring and maintaining the productivity and safety of all employees.*Provide guidance for a safe and productive work environment.*Hands on daily management of production to meet department and company objectives.

*Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.*Ensure weekly production is well planned and achievable.

Standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.*Monitor and support intra-plant production and deliveries.*Track delivery and quality issues in departments and implement corrective actions.*Fully enforce the shop rules and abide by the union contract.

*Support engineering projects, new product development, and introductions.*Establish safety rules and PPE requirements per department.

Monitor and maintain safety of all employees and provide guidance for a safe and productive work environment.*Implement 5S standards in all areas of the plant.

Job Requirements *Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Management preferred.*Minimum 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication / assembly).

*Union experience a plus*Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills.*Foreign language skills, including Spanish, are a plus.*Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

*Ability to work in fast paced environment, multi-task, and handle multiple priorities.*Knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma preferred.*Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.*Understanding of manufacturing safety requirements and procedures.*Must have the physical ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
