JUNIOR IT PROJECT MANAGER This Junior IT Project Manager will ensure the successful execution of multiple assigned projects of varying size and complexity. The person in this position must be able to define and manage expectations, be well organized and be able to effectively command the project teams. Must have excellent communication skills as well as define and manage stakeholders, risks, issues and the project schedule to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope. Demonstrated experience in delivering large scale highly technical IT projects successfully, on budget and on time as well as have the necessary collaboration skills to motivate team members to focus on customer needs and deliver project objectives. This position requires an excellent working knowledge of project management disciplines, practices and deliverables, management of all PM tools and PPM software as well as ability to understand and navigate IT systems at a technical level. The IT Project Manager is able to choose the most appropriate methodology for implementation, including waterfall, Agile and hybrid approaches. Responsibilities The IT Project Manager will be accountable for all project related activities and deliverables, including, but not limited to, the following activities Collaborate with project teams to shape ambiguous product requirements for IT systems into a well thought out project plan and roadmap, driving project definition including acceptance criteria. Think strategically, building long-range roadmaps for technical IT projects while at the same time diving into detailed tactical tasks. Develop and manage multiple enterprise-level IT projects through collaboration with administration, functional managers and Subject Matter Experts, as required. Using Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) professional standards, develop project charters and plans, as well as manage the execution, control and closing of IT projects. Gather both business and technical requirements, coordinating and aligning with subject matter experts as well as software developers andor engineers Drive feature definition, scope, execution planning, tracking, and communicating with IT technical teams and leaders Review and assist with budget analysis, vendor contracts and Statement of Work acceptance, including working with the Legal team Transition closing projects from PMO management to operational status through transparent processes Provide appropriate mentorship to more junior project managers andor those project managers without PMP certification. Conduct professional research into PM methods, tools, current trends or other areas as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Expertise in applying both waterfall and Agile methodologies. PMP certification is a plus Foundational understanding and knowledge of IT infrastructures and architectures, including server, network, identity management, IT security and software development. Experience and expertise with waterfall and agile methodologies. Experience administering Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) software Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to use diagramming software and create visual documentation of processes. Knowledge and experience with Change Management. Ability to work well with others in a team to accomplish goals on time without obstructions. Ability to meet deadlines on an ongoing basis. Technical diagramming and flowcharting of computer systems and data processes. Knowledge and experience in IT service management software, such as ServiceNow. High level of mastery using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, SharePoint, and other software tools.
