Consumer division (known for brands like PCWorld, Macworld, Tech Advisor, & PC Welt to name a few) works closely with the rest of the B2B focused businesses but has a stand-alone element that allows us to adjust and apply strategies to work specifically for the nature of our Consumer business.

Its revenue is spread across  Direct sold media solutions,  Indirect Programmatic and Network platform sales,  Affiliate  based revenues and paid for Reader solutions (print and digital).

As both media and marketing evolve, IDG continues its position in the market as a leader in delivering trusted solutions and content to its user base across the range of our 26 consumer sites across the globe.

The  Internal Marketing Manager will play an integral role in moving the worldwide IDG Consumer business forward.

Audience Marketing is at the intersection of content and product with audiences flowing into our sites where they are monetized by Direct Sold Advertising, Indirect Programmatic advertising and via our Affiliate partnerships.

This role will report directly to our  Head of Global Consumer Audience and will oversee the worldwide audience growth related projects and strategy.

To be successful in the  Internal Marketing Manager role at IDG, you must be confident in your ability to work toward aggressive strategic and audience goals set by the Consumer Leadership Team).

We are looking for someone with the ability to look down-field and plan for the evolving market while also ensuring our day-to-day needs and goals are also achieved.

The  Internal Marketing Manager will be the driving force behind development of User Experiences, Brand Marketing,and Positioining.

They will be tasked with implementing the appropriate strategies, tools, processes, and metrics that will guarantee a positive impact on our overall traffic levels and revenue growth.

We are dedicated to advancing our passion as being the best source for buying and using consumer technology across PC, Mac and general/home tech areas.

  • Working with the  IDG Consumer team to develop, refine and articulate go-forward strategies to grow our traffic and audiences in a way that supports our revenue growth plans
  • Partner with key stakeholders to find new and unique ways to engage with our audiences
  • Source and provide data and metrics to the global Sales teams to aid their market propositions
  • Contribute to and help shape our broader brand strategy
  • Partner with Analytics to deeply understand our consumer and uncover compelling insights and opportunities
  • Champion the voice of the consumer by providing clear, thoughtful and productive feedback during creative and campaign development
  • Help cultivate and build audience segmentations across various brands
  • Cultivate a strong relationship with editorial, product, and creative teams
  • Contribute to and support IDG’s objectives in creating a work culture that makes IDG a great place to work including

  • Minimum of 6+ years of marketing in a consumer environment
  • Extensive experience and excellent results in growing audience engagement
  • Understanding of a/b testing, from creating a hypothesis to execution and formulating conclusions from the data
  • A solid understanding of how to leverage traditional media measurement tools (Nielsen, comScore)
  • Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external partnerships; must be able to work with various internal stakeholders in a collaborative & harmonious way and drive projects through to successful conclusion
  • Experience working across multiple brands with unique strategies and challenges
  • Adaptable & able to switch focus and priorities quickly and seamlessly
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work at fast pace, to achieve targets & business goals
  • Ability to take data and translate it into a compelling story to help key stakeholders the various IDG audiences and their behaviors
