Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain

We are an internal start-up business unit of a major electronics manufacturer with an immediate need for a Director of Supply Chain and Manufacturing. This is a direct hire, permanent job located in the Buffalo, NY area. Relocation assistance IS available for candidates not local to upstate New York.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to join a new line of business for the company and help shape the future of this group. You will lead all manufacturing and supply chain activities within the group. You will help us achieve growth within this new market and also establish the organization, implement the structure and essential automation, and also determine how to leverage parts of the existing operations or supply chain. We are looking for candidates with previous automotive or electronics industry experience.


  • Develop a customer-focused, multi-layered strategy which will allow different parts of the group to mature, scale and grow at different rates.
  • Lead development and implementation of supply chain programs and processes; design and implement metrics for those programs and processes.
  • Lead the manufacturing and supply chain team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams as they work to develop and integrate new technologies into products.
  • Implement the process for supplier sourcing, selection, and monitoring.
  • Establish operational process improvements to increase efficiency in material ordering, inventory management, and data management.
  • Stay current on key trends and developments in the supply chain space and work to integrate new ideas and technologies into our approaches and workflows.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations or Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 10 years leading supply chain or operations teams in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to drive down total cost of ownership through supply chain sourcing activities, including the use of a broad network of supply chain contacts.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
  • Automotive or Electronics industry experience.
