Job Description

SHIFT II: 9:00AM – 5:00PM

PURPORSE OF THE POSITION: This position serves as the primary staff resource for the development and implementation of new business plans. Working from the strategic priorities set by senior leadership, the Associate Director ensures that business plans are developed, approved and implemented in a timely manner.

A second and complementary role for this position, is to provide staff support to the Chief Operating Officer. This includes the management and implementation of Key Performance Indicator data performance reporting, assistance with the Emergency Management program, staff recruitment tracking and the development and tracking of the annual budget for the COO Division.


Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, develops new business initiatives. Works closely with senior leadership, physician staff, clinical support staff, finance, human resources and Central Office business development office to accurately reflect the resources required, anticipate patient volume and patient revenue, to achieve business plan outcomes.

Under the direction of project Executive Sponsor, assumes project manager role for new business initiatives, ensuring the timely achievement of key milestones as outlined in the implementation plan for each project.

Responsible for the timely submission of data and reports to Central Office, related to new business initiatives and performance improvement initiatives.

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer develops, maintains and analyzes monthly key  Performance Indicator Report. Assists in key operational activities including Emergency Management, employee and patient satisfaction activities, vacancy and onboarding tracking, budget development and budget tracking.


  • Develops business plans using Health+ Hospitals corporate format, provide reporting and updates to central office as requested.
  • Acts as project manager to oversee implementation of new business initiatives in the hospital.
  • Develop new business implementation plans using Microsoft Project.
  • Develops and provides analysis of Key Performance Indicator report for the COO Division. Ensures quality and meaningfulness of data.
  • Under direction of Emergency Management Coordinator, assists with key elements of the Emergency Management Plan, including staff training.
  • Working with Human Resources, tracking the recruitment and onboarding of positions within the COO Division.
  • Under the direction of the COO and working with Finance and departmental leadership, develops and monitors the COO annual budget.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A Masters Degree in Art or Science with a specialization in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, Administrative Medicine or in Public Health when conferred for a program in hospital administration from an approved college or university; and,
2. Four years of administrative experience and background at responsible management and administrative levels; or,
3. An equivalent combination of training, educational background and experience in related fields and educational disciplines; and,
4. Knowledge of fundamentals of hospital organization, administration and standards, regulations and laws applicable to hospital operations. Knowledge of principles of business and personnel administration, management functions and support service functions and ability to direct and supervise personnel.

Department Preferences

  • Masters Level Degree (MPA, MBA, MHA) or Undergraduate and 2 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledgeable in Data Analysis, Project Management, Business Planning, Hospital Strategic Planning
  • Computer Programs/Software Operated: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL programing preferred.
