– Federal Work Study neededFall 2017The Transregional Center for Democratic Studies (TCDS) is looking for a Program Assistant to help with general office administration and the administration and planning of our Fall 2017/Spring 2018 program of events.TCDS Program Assistants should have administrative experience and strong computer skills; will be organized and able to commit to some evening events that TCDS will organize throughout the semester.

Interest and experience in Web site design/maintenance and social media is a plus.TCDS Program Assistant responsibilities:Providing overall administrative assistance and support to the TCDS Program Coordinator; helping with general office administration;Helping with planning and administration of Democracy & Diversity Institutes in Johannesburg, South Africa and Wroclaw, Poland;Helping with planning and organization of all TCDS events at The New School, such as conferences, the TCDS lecture series, alumni round tables, information sessions, etc.;Drafting and editing TCDS Opportunity List, a weekly newsletter for TCDS community containing information about academic and career opportunities;Drafting and editing posts for the TCDS blog and social media;Drafting, editing, and producing program outreach materials, such as slide-shows, presentations, information bulletins, etc.;Helping with maintenance of mailing lists and alumni database;Answering email inquiries from prospective applicants; corresponding with faculty, students and alumniOther Required SkillsExcel, Word, and PowerPoint; Photoshop/InDesign a plus; Interest in international programs and issues.

Must have Federal Work Study award.
