System Solutions Officer

New York Community Bancorp, Inc.

This is a Contract position in Hicksville, NY posted January 11, 2021.


A System Solutions Officer works under limited supervision and applies advanced knowledge of consumer banking systems to solve business issues and meet information needs. Participates in Retail Banking Host System related projects. Performs daily monitoring of Retail Banking products and resolves host related issues for end users. Trains and assists more junior level staff.


  • Maintains all Miser Core parameters.
  • Participates in the review and development of new information systems to meet current and projected business needs.
  • Provides host system support for the Branch Network, Branch Administration, Retail Help Desk and Retail Back Office Operations.
  • Develops and maintains documentation of user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify systems.
  • Analyzes current and future user requirements, procedures and problems; consults with Miser representatives if necessary.
  • Performs controlled environment testing when system alerts, releases and upgrades are received from Miser, prior to implementing the changes into production.
  • Analyzes problems and makes recommendations on procedural modifications.
  • Provides technical troubleshooting assistance and resolves complex problems for end-users.
  • Conducts audits of system functionality on a regular basis.
  • Develops presentation materials for meetings and other functions as required.
  • Delivers accurate, responsive and courteous service to every customer (internal/external) every time.
  • Monitors reports daily.


  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Where applicable and when performing the responsibilities of the job, employees are accountable to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and adhere to internal control policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of business analyst experience or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Bank’s Core Deposit System and related systems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to the Bank’s deposit system.
  • Computer literate with a proficiency in Microsoft office products.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Exercises sound judgement.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional composure in difficult situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with customer information, employee records and special projects.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to respond to regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
