About University at Albany:Established in 1844 and designated a University Center of the State University of New York in 1962, the University at Albany’s broad mission of excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, research and public service engages a diverse student body of more than 17,900 students in nine schools and colleges across three campuses.Located in Albany, New York, New York State’s capital, the University is convenient to Boston, New York City and the Adirondacks.Job Description:The Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP) for Behavior at the School of Education, University at Albany, provides support to school districts and schools in their efforts to improve outcomes for all students, especially those with disabilities, throughout New York State.

The partnership provides professional development and technical assistance to all members of the Office of Special Education (OSE) Educational Partnership, which includes content specialists in 12 Regional Partnership Centers; 14 Early Childhood Family and Community Engagement Centers; and 14 School-age Family and Community Engagement Centers. Project Associates will:Facilitate initial implementation, sustainability, and expansion of PBIS practices at the school and district level through active participation on regional teamsProvide and/or facilitate quality train-the-trainer professional development at all three tiers of PBIS: universal, secondary and tertiaryIn collaboration with regional teams, train and provide ongoing technical and data analysis support to personnel who use school-wide fidelity data collection systems (e.g., PBIS Assessments for TIC, SET, Benchmarks of Quality, Tiered Fidelity Index, School-wide Assessment Survey) to improve model fidelity at the universal
– tertiary levelIn collaboration with regional teams, work with school
– and district-teams to collect and monitor school and district databases to track, analyze, and respond to student behavioral data, including office discipline referrals and suspensions (e.g., data from SWIS)Participate in regional, statewide, and national PBIS leadership conferences and meetingsAssist the project director and primary investigator in developing responsive trainings and policy so as to develop school and district capacity for PBIS as well as sustainabilityCollaborate with colleagues developing parallel models for academic supports (i.e., MTSS).

Requirements:Required Qualifications:Master’s Degree or higher in Education, Special Education, School Psychology or related field, minimum 3 years of experience working in schoolsStrong knowledge of research related to PBIS at all three tiers: universal, secondary, and tertiaryExperience implementing multi-tiered systems of support that integrate behavioral and academic interventionsExperience planning and conducting professional development, coaching, and trainingDemonstrated leadership and project organizational skills (planning, implementing, evaluating)Ability to work collaboratively with various groups and gain consensus related to project implementation and other problem-solvingAbility to work with and instruct a culturally diverse populationExperience with school-based empirically supported data-based decision-makingDemonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups (teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff)Knowledge of research on implementation science, improvement science, and systems changeExperience with behavioral curriculum design, staff development, and school improvement activitiesExperience working with state, and/or regional and district-level leadership teams in the activities described aboveExperience integrating media and technology into practical techniques of instructional delivery that systematically yield effective learningProximity to the regions of Central New York and/or New York CityAdditional Information:Professional Rank and Salary Range: Staff Associate SL4 Special Notes: This position is temporary and eligible for annual renewal based on external funding.
