Lead Community Engagement Spec

This is a Full-time position in New York, NY posted June 9, 2021.

Responsibility for building and managing relationships that support the EmblemHealth family of companies in New York.

Research and implement partnership building opportunities and relationship management strategies for interaction with community organizations and healthcare partners.

Provide planning, oversight, coordination, and implementation of on-ground branding events for EmblemHealth and its family of companies.

Responsibilities: Support and ideate on programs and opportunities to engage the community, members and patients of EmblemHealth family of companies.

Strategize based on identified knowledge gaps and suggested need of EmblemHealth and community, to design, present and facilitate informative programming.

Build network with identified programmatic branding participants, share learnings with team and determine opportunities to strategically engage, manage and retain membership.

Responsible for identifying issues in communities and advising leadership on next steps.

Maintain appropriate communication with community partners to ensure smooth execution of programs.

Develop and maintain current list of community partners.

Facilitate meetings, provide updates, and provide project information to partners.

Help maintain schedules/status of programs with internal and external partners.

Responsible for keeping within budget and maintaining deadlines.

Obtain and coordinate approvals internally among departments and external partners.

Support and recommend process improvement & other initiatives to Director.

Support departmental objectives with any project functions as assigned or needed.

Provide input/recommendations for improvements related to department policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, in Public Relations/Communications or a related field 5
– 8 years’ relevant work experience, preferably community-related Healthcare industry experience Proven community building and event programming experience with a large healthcare company Additional years of experience/specialized training may be considered in lieu of educational requirements Strong community-facing and business building relationship skills Strong team player, leader, self-starter and creative thinker Outstanding communication (written and verbal) skills Demonstrated project management skills & ability to build strong relationships with internal partners and external media Demonstrated ability to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced environment, including unpredictable hours, with poise Able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Passionate about mission-driven brands and community; and an interest in working in health care Detail oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills Demonstrated project and time-management skills; ability to deliver quality work under tight deadlines Familiarity with all community engagement tactics as well as an ability to report out results and return on investments Familiarity with the NYC market/Westchester/Nassau and Suffolk Counties and demographics
