Intake Liaison

We are looking for a Care Coordinator to join the Counseling Center. Counselors at MSK offer services for individuals, couples, and families. Our counselors, who include both psychiatrists and psychologists, are also available to patients during their hospital stay. We welcome all people with cancer, regardless of whether you are receiving care at MSK or at another institution.

You Are:

  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding
  • Adept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goals

  • Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances

You Will:

  • Greet all clients and politely offer assistance
  • Provide patients with information on approximate waiting times and take appropriate action, and communicate any delays or schedule changes to clients
  • Explain all center policies pertaining to payment for services, cancelations, and class attendance, and work with supervisor to resolve payment questions, complaints, and requests for financial evaluations
  • Receive incoming calls from prospective clients, screen for appropriate service, refer to other MSK facilities when appropriate; schedule visits online in information systems
  • Communicate and resolve client inquiries via the Patient Portal in a timely manner
  • Provide administrative support for the Integrative Medicine at home virtual mind-body and exercise program, including fielding patient questions, completing program enrollment, and providing technical support
  • Reconcile all financial transactions at end of the day and prepare deposit slip for bank deposit, accurately recording all deposit information and reporting any discrepancies to Supervisor

You have:

  • A high school diploma/GED and 2 years relevant experience (preferably frontline, patient-facing role in healthcare)
  • A proven dedication to healthcare, with an interest in integrative medicine services

Hours vary between 6:15 am and 10 pm (Monday-Friday with rotating weekend shifts) . Schedules are provided in advance and flexibility between shifts is expected
