Editor in Chief

The Editorial in Chief will lead the editorial department of a new lifestyle imprint overseeing a team of editors acquiring books across the core categories that will be the imprint’s primary focus.

These categories include cooking, health and wellness, diet, self-help, relationships, and personal and professional development.

The Editor in Chief will work closely with the publisher to establish and build the new imprint’s reputation with trade partners including agents, authors and booksellers.

The Editor in Chief will also collaborate with the publisher to set the publication strategy for each book on the list.

The Editor in Chief will mentor the editors as they build their lists while also attracting and acquiring top tier books and authors across the focus categories for the imprint.


This candidate for this position should have a minimum of 10 years editorial experience with a major trade publisher with at least 3 years of experience in an editorial management role.

The candidate should also have a proven record of acquiring and publishing top selling titles across the new imprint’s focus categories.
