We are looking to fill several openings for Press Assistants/Helpers on all three shifts.DescriptionPrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the pressman directly in all aspects of make readies and running a job.Stage raw material rolls for the operator with core tag accessible for operatorLoad raw material, make splices and verify that all splices are of good quality.Assists operator in changeovers as neededAssists operator during web breaks as neededLabels finished rolls with correct neons & core tags as neededMonitors roll changes and keeps abreast with roll numbers on logReports machine & equipment breakdown to supervisor & maintenance personnelMust be a team playerMust be able to multi taskMust be able to work overtime as neededMust cover for operators while on vacation or breaksUnderstands and supports all policies, procedures, instructions, rules, and regulations (including safety) associated with the Press Department.Always puts the goal to someday to be able to operate a press on his own.Consults with department manager and Quality Assurance of any quality related defectsAssist in investigating root cause analysis & corrective actions for departmental needsPerforms other duties as assignedRelocates skids keeping product separation in mind and maintaining the pressroom in a neat and orderly manner.Responsible for complete all document information accurately.Secondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesConsults with Press Hall supervisor on all assigned duties.All duties assigned to maximize efficiency of press hall equipmentIdentify and help implement process improvements and increased productivity opportunities.EducationRequired: High School diploma or general education degree (GED).Desired: S.M.E.D.

TrainingExperienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must understand upstream operations, downstream operations, and be able to perform each essential duty within the department satisfactorily.

Hands on knowledge of process is desired.

Must be able to help troubleshoot equipment and provide feedback to department supervisor and maintenance personnel.

Must take initiative, be resourceful, and willing to accept responsibility and accountability.
