Heart of Texas Eye Institute is the premier vision correction center of Central Texas. The offices are located in Dripping Springs and Killeen. Our board-certified surgeons are leaders in the area of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

We are currently searching for an administrator with Ophthalmology and Refractive Surgery Experience.


The Administrator is responsible for oversight of the day to day operations within both clinics. This includes coordination of the business office, reception team, clinic, surgery schedule, and marketing initiatives, as well as financial oversight. The successful applicant will be driven and results-focused with a “can-do attitude.”

About The Position:

  • Report directly to the Administrative Partner
  • Lead several process improvement initiatives
  • Administrative Oversight including
  • Management of revenue cycle process
  • Establish and maintain protocols 
  • Accountability for all month-end close processes
  • Assure compliance to industry regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
  • Communicate regularly and effectively
  • Dynamic leadership skills to help direct, coach, and motivate staff
  • Conduct personnel evaluations for employees supervised
  • Interview and hire personnel as needed due to staff changes
  • Conduct departmental meetings
  • Lead an efficient, successful, highly focused customer service trained business office team including:
  • patient registration team
  • surgery coordinators
  • patient financial counselors
  • insurance verification specialist
  • medical coding and billing specialists
  • payor contracting
  • collections
  • Responsible for business development initiatives including:
  • Market Research -Research area competition and present to the marketing team.
  •  Marketing Presentations- Schedule, coordinate, and execute continuing education events for referring doctors. Prepare and deliver presentations for events, lunch & learns, and team meetings as determined by the marketing team
  •  Build and Cultivate Physician Network:
  • Develop relationships with local optometrists, and MDs
  • Actively work with the optometric network to increase physician referrals
  • Present market presentations to physicians and staff
  • Marketing Meeting:
  • Organize weekly marketing update including current marketing initiatives, outcomes, trends, and analysis 
  • Contribute thoughts and ideas to improve current marketing strategies
  • This position requires the ability to problem solve and to work under pressure.

  • Education, Training, And Experience Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required in a business or HIM related field.
  • Cataract and Refractive Surgery Experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five years business office management experience, three as a department manager.
  • Familiarity with computer-automated accounting systems and practice management software.
  • Experience working with all types of third party payers. (HMO, PPO, Medicare/Medicaid, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
