Technical Lead- Software Engineering

We are looking for an individual to lead our product development team.

This person must be a self-starter and not be afraid to roll-up their sleeves as a player-coach.

The ideal candidate will have customer support application experience and the ability to easily communicate across all levels of the organization.

This individual will be part of the CIS technology team and report to the Senior Manager of Product Development.

Key Responsibilities The person will be required to participate in core activities of development efforts, like planning and estimating, designing and coding, testing, installing products and supporting production environments.

The individual must also have excellent communication skills Software Engineer will understand the implications of major design decisions and will be responsible for highlighting important or difficult decisions, ensuring that the tradeoffs are considered.

Where appropriate, a Software Engineer will propose significant architectural changes and participate in the evaluation of others’ proposals Proactively work the external dependencies to remove any technical roadblocks for the Scrum Team and successfully deliver on Sprint Backlog by coordinating with the Technical lead and other Experian teams such as infrastructure or development teams Actively participate and support Backlog Grooming process by working with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Scrum Team Technical lead and other stakeholders to make sure written and non-written requirements are captured correctly Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency, consistent APIs, making thoughtful tradeoffs between consistency and availability when both are not possible Comfortable working in a large and sophisticated code base with many contributors Generate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate leadership, development teams and business users Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant applications & services Passionate for continuous learning, experimenting and applying cutting edge technology and software paradigms Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience 6 years of experience in a computing environment with Java/J2EE/Spring Troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to solve technical challenges Knowledge of microservices development and deployment lifecycle, networking and distributed architecture, security compliance, scalability configurations Insights on Service performance tuning and scalability testing / Security compliance / Service Discovery optimizations Good exposure to applications built on Java / JEE based technologies Demonstrates proficient knowledge of engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers) Must have Experience working with RESTful web services (JSON, JWT) Must have Experience working with Java Frameworks (Spring, Springboot) Experience on kubernetes, openshift and containerization is highly desirable Experience in Cloud Native development is highly desirable Experience working with SQL and knowledgeable on relational Database concepts Experience with LINUX/UNIX creating basic scripts using UNIX standard utilities such grep, awk, sed, etc.

Experience in C/C++ to understand and reverse engineer on legacy systems is a plus Experience in Monolithic Legacy systems migration/redesign is a plus Experience working with Version Control tools (SVN, GIT) Strong knowledge of software development and project management methodologies is desirable Must have experience with Scrum or other Agile processes Strong oral and written communication skills Strong problem solving and analytical skills
