Payroll Coordinator and Accounts Payable

This is a Full-time position in New York, NY posted November 22, 2021.

This is a full-time in office position Monday through Friday 9am-5pm. Remote not available.

Looking for a customer service minded person to fit an Accounts payable and Payroll position. The role will include but not limited to following:

Preparing and transmitting payroll through ADP.

Updating each payroll with tax changes, changes in personnel information, voluntary deductions, new hires and calculating a large volume of timecards and sheets,

Communicating with various departments and ensure accuracy of all employee/student compensation.

Responsible for payroll records, and preparation

Working with ADP on payroll issues and payroll tax issues.

Preparing invoices for payment by obtaining approvals, matching purchases order numbers, and researching for possible duplicate payments.

Entering invoices and check requisitions into Banner, proofs for accuracy, runs processes and prints checks.

Other Functions

Preparing and distributing support and student time sheets and cards.

Coordinating distribution of paychecks.

Meeting with personnel to answer queries and provide assistance.

Researching and answering questions from internal and external sources related to payroll and accounts payable.

This Accounts Payable/Payroll candidate will also provide exceptional customer service to departments regarding their accounting activities.  A minimum of 5 years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.  Experience using ADP Payroll and Banner or similar financial information system is required.  Knowledge of Accounting functions with a strong technical accounting and analytical skills is required.  Excellent and advance computer skills (Word, Excel required).  Experience in higher education accounting is a plus.
