About the role The D&O Product Head / CUO will be based in New York and report to the North America Financial Lines Head of Product.

This role will manage the D&O product across all businesses within Financial Lines to ensure its profitable growth through proper underwriting guidance and continuous visibility and interaction with our key distribution partners and customers.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES * Monitor and drive the profitable performance of the D&O product through effective portfolio management across all North America Financial Lines businesses* Develop and maintain consistent underwriting best practices in accordance with underwriting guidelines, to ensure rating, pricing, profitability, and structuring adequacy* Partner with the Business Heads on devising targeted growth, correction or remediation strategies* Develop and lead Financial Lines Product Development and Product Management across all business units in North America* Develop and deliver underwriting guidelines within the framework of risk appetite, underwriting appetite, limits management and emerging risks* Develop, position, market, and deliver innovative, market-leading products and services through regional framework to a network of producers in a manner that effectively leverages our strengths as a competitive differential in the marketplace* Drive underwriting excellence across the business through quality assurance practices and training* Develop framework for underwriting authority for assigned Financial Lines Product* Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance processes and ensure AIG stakeholders understand Financial Lines Product business models, underwriting methodology, and the risks we assume* Establish strong relationships with zonal and product leadership; create mutual understanding of overall parameters and goals to drive effective execution of business model* Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity and inclusion* Be visible in the market on D&O issues through publication of thought leadership and service on panels SKILLS & ABILITIES * Deep technical underwriting expertise in D&O* Commercial in approach; goal-oriented but flexible enough to value different methods of achievement* Strong influencing and communications skills; able to work across multiple areas both internally and externally* Demonstrable experience formulating initiatives that support broader organizational aims* Experienced in building relationships externally and internally and managing key stakeholder relationships at executive and board level and with clients* Ability to challenge effectively both people and portfolio strategy with the ability to affect change where appropriate* Understanding of how to be effective and productive within a matrixed structure TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE * 10+ years of Financial Lines Underwriting, Agency or Brokerage experience* Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university* Advanced knowledge of the Financial Lines business (D&O, EPL, PTL, First Party) including product features, forms, regulatory environment and risks* Expert technical background in the related Financial Lines products (D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, First Party)* A deep understanding of product development, portfolio management and profitability drivers* Strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems as well as the ability to learn rapidly, adapt quickly to change, exercise influence, and manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects* Superb verbal and written communication skills* Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions* Established strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.* Collegial and collaborative in approach and style* Ability to adapt quickly in an evolving market* Available to travel when required A look at our benefits At AIG, we have a 100-year legacy of working to make the world a better place.
