This position will focus on strategic media relations and external communications for Wells Fargo’s Corporate and Investment Banking division, with a focus on Markets.

The Markets business comprises of our markets-driven financing, sales, and trading businesses.

The successful candidate will devise and execute media relations strategies to promote the leadership’s objectives in the press as well as manage negative press stories.

Preference is for this position to sit in Charlotte, NC or New York, NY.

Other locations may be considered.

Specific responsibilities include :
Provide strategic communications counsel to the Head of Markets and his/her leaders.

Develop a media relations and reputational management program that favorably positions the Markets business and its leaders with key financial, business, trade and broadcast publications.

Generate coverage that looks more broadly at the Markets businesses.

These include: Macro (Rates, Foreign Exchange, Commodities), Equities (Cash Equities, Futures Commissions Merchant, Prime Brokerage), Spread (Credit Sales & Trading, Public Finance).

Place fixed income and equity strategists and equity analysts on broadcast media (CNBC, Bloomberg TV).

Write and edit a variety of complex and/or sensitive communications including breaking news and announcements, press releases, key messages, media statements, Q&As, and talking points.

Build relationships and proactively pitch to media to key print (national and trade), newswire and broadcast media.

Prepare issues management plans, in concert with senior leaders and partners.

Offer insights and influence decision-making based on risk or reputational matters.

Track and measure results to ensure they are in line with intended outcomes and business objectives.

Collaborate across Public Affairs to coordinate work and ensure a “One Wells Fargo” approach.

Partner with communicators to create alignment and support for enhancing the overall corporate reputation.

Communications & Brand Management delivers strategic internal, external, and executive communications for Wells Fargo and is responsible for driving the company’s brand strategy.

The team provides world-class counsel to accelerate the business and deliver relevant content to build trust, drive stakeholder perception, and protect and enhance the company’s reputation.

Required Qualifications
10+ years of communications experience in one or more of the following disciplines: public relations, media relations or corporate communications
Other Desired Qualifications Experience developing integrated communications strategies and plans that align with business objectives Experience working with the media on reputational issues Experience prepping senior executives and leaders for high profile media interviews or speaking engagements Experience with issues management and crisis communications Experience developing compelling content and leveraging multiple channels for creative storytelling Experience building strong relationships with national business and trade news media Job Expectations

Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
